At this point in your cabinetry journey, you’re almost there! The Approval Phase is the final green light before we officially begin building your cabinets — and it’s one of the most important steps in the entire process.
What Is the Purpose of the Approval Phase?
This phase gives all decision makers a final opportunity to carefully review their choices, sign off on the sales order and cabinet drawings, and make the down payment. It’s the moment to confirm that everything looks just the way you envisioned. Once you approve, the ball starts rolling quickly: parts will be ordered, and your cabinetry will move into the manufacturing queue.
How Long Will the Approval Phase Take?
Good news — it’s the shortest phase of the project. That said, it’s also the one with the biggest impact. After you approve your order, there’s no going back. So while it only takes a few days we urge you to take it seriously and review everything thoroughly. Your manufacturing lead time won’t begin until this step is complete, so timely approval helps keep your project on track.
What Should I Be Checking?
We recommend setting aside a quiet time and space to review your drawings and documents carefully. Don’t rush. A thoughtful review now will \ prevent headaches during installation later.
Make sure to confirm the following details:
● Wood species and finish colors – Do the tone and texture feel right to you?
● Door and drawer styles + hardware – Are they the look and functionality you wanted?
● Door overlay type – Inset, beaded inset, ½” overlay, or full overlay?
● Countertop – Material, edge profile, and color.
● Sink – Style, size, and material.
● Accessories – Is everything where you want it?
● Appliances – Are the locations, brands, and models correct? If you’re not the only decision maker, make sure everyone involved takes time to review and approve as well.

Do I Need to Understand All the Dimensions?
Not in full detail — that’s our job. But it is important that you understand the basic layout: how tall, wide, and deep your cabinets are. We’ll handle the technical dimensions, like the interior frame sizes and joinery specifics.
Will This Delay My Manufacturing Lead Time?
This is a common question. Your manufacturing lead time doesn’t begin until after all approvals are in and your down payment is made. While each project timeline varies based on demand, our designers will keep you informed throughout the process so you’ll always know what to expect.
What Happens Next?
Once we receive your approval and down payment, your work is done — and ours begins. Our team will go through every detail once more to make sure everything is just right. Within a few days, John Kurtz, our Scheduling Coordinator, will reach out about the next steps. That could include a second measure if needed, as well as confirming your installation date. Your dream space is just around the corner. The Approval Phase ensures everything is aligned before we begin crafting your cabinetry. Thank you for taking the time to review thoroughly — we can’t wait to bring your vision to life!
